Nursery

Mt Beenak Orchids was established at Three Bridges in Victoria in 1979 which makes us one of the oldest established orchid nurseries still trading in Australia.

We have sold many types of cool growing orchids since then, but now specialise in Masdevallias, Oncidiums (formerly called Odontoglossums), Zygopetalums and Sarcochilus. The majority of our stock is raised from our own breeding but we also import many new clones from overseas nurseries. Having our own laboratory gives us quality control and the flexibility to maintain stock levels. we often have some spare flasks and we will list them in the Flasks page when available.

The majority of our sales are through this website but special flowering plants are regularly offered on eBay. We travel to many major Orchid Fairs which you will find on our Events page.

In Victoria we do many local shows so you can see some of our select plants on display or purchase from the sales area. It is always a pleasure to meet our customers at these events.

Mail Order

Our nursery has always specialised in Mail Order and we have a great deal of experience in packing orchids. We have accreditation to send plants to all States in Australia. Orders are dispatched within 5 days of receipt unless special circumstances prevent it. We only charge for postage not for packing.

Postage within Victoria is $10.00 Interstate Postage $16.00 per parcel. Customers in WA may incur extra freight charges and will be billed for the difference when cost is known to us. Quarantine requirements for W.A and Tasmania attract an extra fee of $15.00 per order to enable us to comply with the ICA-29 regulations. The total price of postage and quarantine treatment and paperwork will be shown in the check out.

As the nursery is a little out of the way, visits are by appointment only. We are often away so please phone before planning a visit.

Directions from Lilydale:
Follow the Warburton Highway to Yarra Junction, take a right hand turn at the traffic lights. Follow this road signposted to Baw Baw for 11 km. You are now in Three Bridges. Turn right into Hacketts Creek Road, Mt Beenak Orchids is about 500 meters on your left. Three Bridges is about 35 minutes drive from Lilydale.
